Being a traffic exchange owner demand you to work hard in order to keep the exchange to grow and be a part of other marketers choise when they promote their products. You can not sit back and hope it will happen by it self. And most important, do not expect others do the work for you.
The most work to bring in new members you have to do your self – I promoto and advertise almost everywhere. I have joined so many other traffic exchanges, and I am overwhelmed to keep up surfing with all of them. To keep up with surfing most of the exchanges I am a member of, I have organized and bookmarked groups to surf in different days, mostly I surf at 20 a day and ten of them I surf on a daily bases.
How To Cope With Promoting My Exchange
I use a rotator from another traffic exchange, I use three of my promotion splash pages in this rotator. I ad this rotator to atleast 10 of my favorite traffic exchanges that I surf on a daily bases. The more other surfers will see the sites the more surfers will join.
The splash page should not be overwhelmed with information as the surfers will only have a few seconds to read the information you provide on the page you are using. I use one head line and few words of the feature my exchange are offering.
Use all the advertising option the Exchange offer
A traffic exchange offer at least three important ways to promote your site. Some surfers pay more attention to the banners and hotlinks/textlinks then the pages. So if you do not ad those advertise options the you will loose customers or sign ups.
1. ad your rotator with at least three splash pages
2. ad at least three banners in rotation
3. ad at least three hotlinks or text ads
The critical number in marketing is number three. The process in a persons mind when it comes to see an ad is, it take three times for a potential customer to even get interested in what you are promoting. This means you have to ad your ads at least three times to get a surfers attention.

Excellent post Anette and also being a TE owner, I can also relate as it is hard work – you do have to keep doing something daily that people will stay active – along with keeping the interest so that new people will want to join. The key is not to give up, learn to build relationships with other site owners, your members and don’t be afraid to talk to your members.
Thank You Nancy – I thought you would like this post…lol. I agree with you and working on the relationships with my members and try to find new once…/Anette
